Almost two thousand years ago Jesus Christ founded a Church upon the faith of his disciples. Over the centuries their successors have gone into lands extending far past the apostles' native Israel. The Orthodox Church today is the continuation of that same Church.

In 1794 Russian Orthodox Missionaries came to Alaska to work among the native people in what would later become America. Orthodoxy spread throughout the continent and today has became the fastest growing Christian religion in the country.

Saint Innocent Church in Carol Stream, IL is part of this historic continuity. From the first century of the common era up to today, the Orthodox faith is given inviolate and lived according to the ancient canons of the early Church. It is the primary mission of St. Innocent of Moscow Russian Orthodox Church to bring the Gospel and services of the Russian Orthodox Church to the people of America in the English language. We welcome you to our church community.
